How To Make Cake In A Mug: With Three Ingredients
One of the earliest known cakes dates back to ancient Egypt, where cakes were often made for special occasions and celebrations using honey, nuts, and fruits. The ancient Greeks also made cakes with honey and wheat flour.
And here we are now, trying to cook it in a cup. Well, without further adieu, here's a recipe for a cake in a mug with just three ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) self-rising flour
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) granulated sugar
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- Mix the self-rising flour and sugar in a microwave-safe mug until well combined.
- Add the egg to the mug and whisk until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain.
- For 1 minute, microwave the mug on high and 30 seconds. Adjust the cooking time up or down by a few seconds, depending on the wattage of your microwave.
- After removing the mug from the microwave, allow the cake to cool for some time. You can eat it directly or transfer it to a plate if desired.
Optional add-ins: Add chocolate chips, sprinkles, or vanilla extract to the batter for extra flavor.
